Ultrasound is a painless imaging technique that uses sound waves to visualize internal organs in real time.

How your exam will proceed

The examination is performed by a radiologist and usually lasts between 15 and 30 minutes.

Comfortable positioning on the examination table.
Application of a conductive gel to the area to be examined to facilitate the passage of ultrasound waves. This gel does not stain, is aseptic and does not cause allergies.
The doctor moves a probe to capture the images. Some types of ultrasound require the use of specific probes. This is the case for pelvic ultrasounds, which require the use of an endovaginal probe (placed inside the vagina).
Immediate analysis of the images and delivery of the report.

Important Note : Depending on the organ being examined (abdomen, bladder), it may be necessary to be fasting or to have a full bladder.
