Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Non-invasive imaging examination using a powerful magnetic field to create highly accurate images of organs, soft tissues and nervous systems.
How your exam will proceed
The MRI is painless. The examination lasts from 20 to 45 minutes, during which remaining still is essential.
- Preparation: Removal of all metallic objects (jewelry, watches, removable prostheses). The team checks for any contraindications (pacemaker, certain surgical clips).
- Examination: You lie on a table that slides into the ring of the machine. Earplugs are provided to reduce the sounds emitted by the MRI.
- Communication: The radio operator remains in constant visual and vocal contact with you via an intercom.
- Results: The images are analyzed immediately by the radiologist, and a report is given to the patient or sent to the referring physician as soon as possible.
**Important Note** : Patients with a pacemaker, certain vascular clips or cochlear implants must report this before the examination.
