Scanner (Computer-Assisted Tomography or CT scan)
Rapid X-ray-based examination providing very thin cross-sectional images of all parts of the body. Effective for visualizing bones, lungs, and blood vessels.
How your exam will proceed
The scanner is very fast, with image acquisition taking only a few minutes.
- Preparation: The technician will ensure that you have removed any objects that could interfere with the image. A contrast agent may be injected (if necessary).
- Examination: You lie on a table that moves inside the ring. You will often be asked to hold your breath for a few seconds.
- Surveillance: The team monitors you from behind a protective glass panel while communicating with you via intercom.
- Recovery: After the examination, you can resume your activities. If you received an injection, it is recommended that you stay well hydrated.
**Important Note** : Inform our team if you are diabetic or have a history of allergies (especially to iodine), as this may affect the injection of contrast agent.
